What is fibre?
What is fibre? (US spelling: fiber.) It is the part of plant foods your body does not fully digest. It comes with food — beans, oats, fruit skins, veg, wholegrains — not as a personality trait or a cleanse.
UK adults are steered toward about 30g a day (how much fibre per day). Most of us eat far less. Gutmaxx logs supermarket portions so you can see the gap without medical jargon.
Soluble vs insoluble (plain English)
Oats, beans and chia lean soluble. Skins, wholemeal bread and many veg lean insoluble. You want both over a week — that is fibermixxing, not a contest.
Food, not hype
